Eternal Life is Knowing You: A Relationship with Jesus

Eternal life isn’t just about living forever; it’s about knowing God, through Jesus Christ. In John 17:3, Jesus Himself defines eternal life: “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” (John 17:3, CEV).

This eternal life begins not at the moment of our physical death but when we begin a relationship with Jesus. Knowing Jesus isn’t merely about acknowledging facts about Him; it’s about a personal, intimate connection. Just as we build relationships with people we love, we build a relationship with Jesus through prayer, reading His Word, and walking in His ways.

Jesus offers eternal life through this knowledge of Him, transforming our lives and giving us a purpose that extends beyond this world. As we grow closer to Him, we begin to understand more of His love, His sacrifice, and the abundant life He offers. This relationship is the gateway to eternal life—not just a future promise, but a present reality we can experience every day.

So, eternal life isn’t just a concept or an event; it’s knowing Jesus personally, deeply, and intimately, now and forever.
