- freedom from lust’s control

How Can God Command Holiness If We Are Weak?

God is holy.

So if holiness depended on human strength, we would all collapse.

Holiness looks like love that refuses revenge 🕯️
Forgiveness does not mean calling evil “fine.” It means refusing to become evil in response.
Holiness looks like worship that continues after the song ends 👑🕯️
Obedience, surrender, and reverence—because God is worthy outside the sanctuary too.
Holiness looks like courage against cultural drift 🕯️
Not “being strange” to feel superior, but being faithful when compromise is normal.
Holiness looks like humility that is quick to repent 🕯️
A holy person is not a person who never needs correction. A holy person is a person who does not cling to pride.

- comfort as ultimate
- control as safety
- approval as identity

Holiness is not merely “stopping bad habits.”
Holiness is replacing false kings with the true King.
Holiness says, “God is God over my desires, my schedule, my body, my future.” 👑🕯️
Holiness And The Presence Of God
Many believers want God’s presence, but forget what presence means.
God’s presence is not only comforting—it is purifying. 🕯️
When the holy God draws near:
- excuses lose their power
- hidden motives get exposed
- idols start to taste bitter
- repentance becomes urgent
- worship becomes real
This is why true nearness to God often includes both tears and peace:
Tears—because holiness exposes.

How To Pursue Holiness Without Falling Into Shame
Holiness grows best in the light of grace, not under the whip of shame.

Holiness is not you gripping God tightly enough.
